PHOENIX (AP) — Sami Whitcomb scored 29 of her career-high 36 points in the first half, Alyssa Thomas had her 16th career triple-double and the Phoenix Mercury beat the Dallas Wings 102-72 on Monday night to avoid their first three-game losing streak of the season. Whitcomb’s 29 were the most points scored by a WNBA player in any half this season.

The Dallas Wings (6-13) featured a starting lineup with four rookies on July 3 against the Phoenix Mercury. It marked the first time any WNBA team had that many rookies in a starting lineup since 2000. Now, the Wings are looking to claim another victory against the Mercury in Phoenix Monday night.

The Phoenix Mercury will now have two players representing at the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis.
