An avalanche triggered by a glacier burst struck a BRO camp in Chamoli's Mana village, near Badrinath temple, on Friday. The avalanche trapped 57 people, of whom some have been rescued.

The Indian Army said 55 Border Roads Organisation workers were trapped under snow after an avalanche on Friday morning.

Uttarakhand Avalanche Updates: 57 road construction workers were stationed in the BRO camp at the time of the incident, informed Deepam Seth, Uttarakhand's Director General of Police, while speaking to NDTV.
