Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appeared to suggest that contracting measles is the best defense against the disease as a Texas outbreak spreads

In Texas specifically, a total of 223 people have contracted measles since the outbreak began in January, with at least 29 people, mostly children, requiring hospitalization. One child, who was unvaccinated, has died from measles, while a second unvaccinated person’s death is currently being investigated by health officials.

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was reportedly part of a phone call last week with an activist in Texas helping distribute holistic and unproven remedies to families affected by the measles outbreak.
