James O'Connor makes Australia return for British and Irish Lions Test series after Noah Lolesio injury - Veteran fly-half back in Wallabies fold for first time in three years ahead of Brisbane opener

James O’Connor had resigned himself to missing out on Australia’s squad for the series against the British and Irish Lions – until he bumped into Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt in Brisbane’s CBD on Friday morning.

Joe Schmidt has announced his Wallabies squad to tackle the British and Irish Lions in three Test matches, with James O’Connor recalled to the team. O’Connor has answered the Wallabies’ SOS following the gutting injury to fly-half Noah Lolesio with James Slipper joining the recalled veteran in playing for Australia in two successive British & Irish Lions series.
