First Alert Weather Day continues into Monday as cooler weather sticks around and rain becoming widespread across the Midlands.

This is the weekend we turn the clocks forward. We lose an hour of sleep, but nighttime holds off until later on Sunday.

A First Alert Weather Day is in effect for Sunday as our weather team tracks rain and thunderstorms for the remainder of the weekend. After a few showers earlier Saturday, we are dry this afternoon. There will be a few light showers possible this evening mainly south and west of Jacksonville.

Your Friday is a First Alert Weather Day, as we will continue to see snow and rain throughout the day. For the most part, our snow will occur in the morning with maybe a chance of an afternoon wintry mix. Our winds will also be somewhat breezy out of the northwest at 10 to 20 miles per hour.

Starting Tuesday morning, wind gusts are expected to reach the 20s, increasing to the upper 30s and low 40s as a weather system approaches Eastern Kentucky.
