YR4 has now been reassigned to Torino Scale Level Zero, the level for 'No Hazard' as additional tracking of its orbital path has reduced its possibility of intersecting the Earth to below the 1-in-1000 threshold.

New observations of 2024 YR4 conducted with the European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope (ESO's VLT) and facilities around the world have all but ruled out an impact of the asteroid with our planet.

But after reaching the top of NASA's asteroid risk list, the chances of YR4, which is estimated to measure 130-300 feet (40–90 meters) across, hitting Earth has dropped dramatically. According to the latest calculations from NASA, the likelihood has dropped down to 0.0027 percent, or one in 37,037.
