The Ole Miss men's basketball team has been struggling in recent weeks under second-year head coach Chris Beard. After a stretch in which the team won four of five games, including a dominant performance against nationally ranked Kentucky, the Rebels have dropped two straight games in agonizing fashion.

Rick Pitino knows good coaches when he sees one, and he believes Ole Miss has a great man in command with Chris Beard. With a 19-7 record and a top 25 ranking, Beard likely will earn a new contract this offseason.
