Idaho Gov. Brad Little will soon have the final say over whether a bill prohibiting government and school mask mandates to fight the spread of infectious disease will become law. On Friday, the Idaho Senate voted 27-6 to pass House Bill 32.

Mask requirements “violate the rights” of Idahoans, one senator said. A bill follows efforts by Idaho Republicans to limit public health requirements.

The bill would establish a $50 million parental choice tax credit beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, helping parents send their children to nonpublic schools.
