Hundreds of Iowa City residents descended on City Park to honor John Lewis by making "Good Trouble" to protest President Donald Trump's policies.

THE BRIDGE BOUNCED and car horns blared. Between the street corners below and the pedestrian bridge above, the spot where Treat Boulevard meets Jones Road in Walnut Creek was hopping Thursday evening.

Organizers will call for passage of the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and other voting rights legislation.

An event honoring the legacy of late U.S. Rep. John Lewis was held on the South Carolina State House steps on Thursday.

An estimate of more than 1,700 people attended an IndivisibleNOCO rally at Dwayne Webster Veterans Park in June. About 150 sign waving people joined the rest of the nation to honor the late U.S. Representative and civil rights leader John Lewis on Thursday, July 17, 2025 during a Making Good Trouble rally on Kaumualii Highway fronting the mauka end of Kukui Grove Center.
