延续练习赛出色状态，诺里斯将以头名与车手世界冠军竞争者费斯塔彭在第一排发车。去年冠军塞恩斯在排位赛第三节撞车，无奈将于第10位开始正赛。

10支车队的20名车手在星期五（20日）和星期六分成两批，举行公开见面会。又热又潮湿的天气虽然很快就让人汗流浃背，但无阻数千名车迷热烈为车手们欢呼。不少人也带着精心制作的应援板，希望获得车手“翻牌”。
