Washington Nationals interim general manager Mike DeBartolo and interim manager Miguel Cairo are ready to try to turn around an organization that's had the second-worst record in the majors since 2020.

"The fans are frustrated. We're all frustrated," DeBartolo said. "We have a lot of interesting, exciting young pieces to build on."

The Washington Nationals have reportedly fired general manager Mike Rizzo and manager Dave Martinez on Sunday. The Nationals are 37-53. They sit in last place in the National League East, 16 games behind the first-place Philadelphia Phillies, and 11 games back of the San Diego Padres for the final NL Wild Card spot.
