In our NHL Trade Talk weekend rumors report, as the NHL Trade Deadline approaches, speculation is kicking up regarding some of the league’s biggest names.

Lindgren has made it clear that this is where he wants to be moving forward, but the fact that the front office was willing to dish out a five-year extension to Will Borgen after just a couple of games may be evidence they are ready to move on.

The best fit for Brock Nelson is the Minnesota Wild. While the Islanders won't be able to get a 2025 first-round pick in the deal, they could pull away a defensive prospect that would help them. The Wild would get better by making this deal, could re-sign him this offseason, and sell the “hometown kid” aspect of the deal.
