The Detroit Lions made a minor roster move ahead of their preseason opener against the Los Angeles Chargers, signing running back Jacob Saylors and waiving tight end Luke Deal with an injury designation. Deal, a blocking tight end out of Auburn, signed with the Lions as a tryout player out of rookie minicamp.

The Lions have a new running back in training camp. The team announced the signing of Jacob Saylors on Tuesday morning. They waived tight end Luke Deal with an injury designation to make room for Saylors on the 90-man roster.
